Chandrapur (Rautahat): CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has criticized Madhes-centric political parties, accusing them of losing public trust due to their opportunistic character. Speaking at an assembly in Laukaha, Rautahat, on Saturday, as part of the Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign, Prachanda emphasized that political parties must not forget their responsibilities towards the people.
Focus on Madhesi Issues and Developmental Challenges
Prachanda highlighted that the Maoist Centre’s ongoing campaign along the Postal Highway aims to understand the struggles of Madhesi people. He acknowledged that poor irrigation facilities, weak road networks, and lack of quality education remain significant obstacles in Tarai-Madhes. The former prime minister pledged to make maximum efforts to address these challenges and reaffirmed the Maoist Centre’s commitment to supporting marginalized communities suffering from discrimination and underdevelopment.
Revolution Needs Madhesi People's Support
Prachanda also paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs, stating that the success of Nepal’s revolution depends on the active participation of the Tarai-Madhes people. He urged continued political engagement and promised to advocate for their rights and development.
Meetings with Party Cadres and Local Communities
During his visit on Saturday, Prachanda met with party cadres and local residents in Garuda, Durgabhagawati Rural Municipality, Gaur, and other parts of Rautahat district. His interactions aimed to strengthen party ties and understand grassroots concerns.
